An accent wall living room is perhaps the easiest thing you can get (do) to spruce up the environment without overdoing. Let’s say you are the sort of person who is not too fond of accessories or gimmicky add-ons. You loathe having to mount any wall art or paintings. You despise the complexity of making everything proportional and all. If you indeed have this kind of way of thinking, you can now add a dash of drama to your living room without having to deal with too much hassle in the process: An accent wall takes away all the unnecessary complexity.
So, what is an accent wall living room anyway? An accent wall is, simply put, a wall in a room that appears in a color that is in stark contrast with other elements within that exact room. By “stark” it does not have to mean eye-gouging. The key to achieving balance for this matter is to get a color that goes along well with the rest of the room. For example, if the living room is dominated by warm color palette, you could go for similarly toned paint for one wall. However, if your living room is styled in pale, neutral color, you need to be careful so as not to choose too neutral a color for that one accent wall as everything would be washed out.
If painting a wall is not your cup of tea, you can still create an accent wall living room using a stencil. With similar principle mentioned above, choose color that goes along well with the rest of the room. Also, pick a stencil that bears pattern on it to add texture to the room. This is a mess-free alternative that gives the same impact as is the case with using wall paint.
