Choosing an art work for living room should be something done based purely on your personal preferences. The term contains the word “art in it so it only makes sense that the item you choose speaks to you artistically. That being said, it does not mean you could choose pretty much anything artsy to add to your living room either. Composition and proportionality are of utter importance when it comes to using artwork as part of home interior design ensemble. Hastily choosing any artwork for your living room would instead result in an effect that you did not intend to get in the process.
There are many types of art work for living room you can choose. Of course, there are expensive pieces out there you can afford—if you have the budget, that is. In this case, art should not always be associated with high price. You can work on your own version of artwork using very little things found around. You can create a washi tape art, make something out of pages of old books, use wallpaper or fabrics to make frames, whip up some frame children’s artwork, or be creative in incorporating utensils (silverware, jewelry, keys) to shadow boxes.
Next important thing about art work for living room is its placement. You can place it above a sofa, over a mantle, or in either side of a window—it is completely up to you so long as everything works out for the best. You can also combine several different artwork types to place in the same spot. However, this requires you to be able to plan out everything first before hitting the nails on the wall. If the composition consists largely of photo frames, you can place some artwork of different type in the middle of everything as a focal point.
