Simply put, a fixer upper living room is exactly that: A living room whose style is inspired by the reality show on TV about home décor, Fixer Upper. Starring Chip and Joana Gaines, the show features clients who wish to either purchase or remodel a house. But this is not about the show. This is about how you can steal the show’s ideas and implement them on your own living room. It would be great especially when you have run out of ideas to transform your living room from what it was to something else you fall in love with all over again.
You can try a fixer upper living room style with open concept and a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. This is a nice way of making it all look bigger with fewer efforts. Alternatively, you can install a wall of sliding windows in your living room that opens to a view of the backyard. Or, you can try to replace all the lighting fixtures in your living room with a set of recessed ones. Coupled with white exposed-beams ceiling and molding as well as French doors, the room will feel much brighter without too much light source.
If the abovementioned fixer upper living room ideas are just too much work for you (as they entail somewhat larger remodeling project), you can still revamp your living room with just a few tweaks. You can play with colors instead. For example, try using a charcoal gray scheme on a rug, leather chairs, and a contemporary sofa. Everything should look fresher in an instant. Or, try sage green for a wall and make it a statement focal point. Oversized leather chairs or sofas can also be a great addition. If your house comes with a fireplace, repaint it in dark gray with bluish undertone.
